Genesis 1:24-25, 30; Psalm 104:10-12, 17-18 The Bible tells us what God made. We learned that God made daytime and the sun that shines. God made the nighttime with the moon and the stars. Then God made the water filled with all the things that live in the water. God made the sky and filled it with birds. God also made the dry land and the many plants, like trees. God saw what He had made. It was very good. But God wasn’t finished making things yet. God said, “Let there be all kinds of living creatures, or animals to live on the land. Let there be livestock, animals that move along the ground, and wild animals.” And that is what happened. There were all kinds of animals! Animals appeared everywhere! Genesis 1:9-12, 29-31 The Bible tells us what God made. We learned that God made the daytime. He put the sun in the sky to light the daytime. God also made the nighttime. God also made the water and filled it with all the things that live in the water, like fish. And God made the sky. He filled it with birds. But God wasn't finished making things yet. He wanted a dry place where there was no water. So God said, “Let the water be gathered into one place so dry ground appears.” And there was dry ground! God called the dry ground “land.” It was very good. God made plants to grow on the land. He said, “Let the land grow plants. Let each plant make its own seeds.” That is what happened. There were plants. Some of the plants were tall trees. Some trees grew fruit like the cherry tree. Some of the plants were small. Some had flowers. Some plants were bushes. Genesis 1:6-10, 20-23 God made the daytime. He put the sun in the sky to light the daytime. God also made nighttime. He put the moon and the stars in the sky to light the nighttime. But God wasn’t finished yet. He decided to make more things. God said, “Let there be a huge space of air above the waters of the world.” And there was air! God called the air “sky.” The sky was blue and had white fluffy clouds. When God looked around at what He had made, He saw there was water everywhere. So God said, “Let the waters under the sky come together in one place.” Whoosh, whoosh. The waters did come together. Genesis 1:3-5, 14-19; Psalms 63:6-8; 121:3b-4 When God made the world, it was very dark. There was no light. Close your eyes and imagine a world with no light, only dark. What did you see? That’s how the world looked on the beginning. When God first made the world, that was all there was—except God. But God had an idea. God said, “Let there be light!” And there was light! God called the light daytime. God knew that we would need the darkness, too. He called the darkness “nighttime.” As soon as God did that, there was daytime and nighttime. That was the first day. John 11:1-45 Jesus had three friends that lived in a village called Bethany, near the city of Jerusalem.  The friends were Mary, her sister Martha, and their brother Lazarus. Jesus loved his friends very much. One day, Jesus and His helpers were staying in a town on the east side of the Jordan River, far away from where His friends lived. A messenger came to Jesus. A messenger is a person who gives news to people. But this messenger didn’t have good news for Jesus. “Jesus, your friend Mary sent me with sad news. Lazarus is very sick,” the messenger said. Jesus loved Lazarus. He felt very sad that Lazarus was so sick. But he stayed in the town for two more days before going to see Lazarus. When Jesus came near to Bethany, He found that Lazarus had been dead for four days. Mary heard that Jesus was coming. She ran to meet Him. She was crying and said, “Jesus, I wish You had come sooner. But I know you can still help my brother.” ...

Luke 15:1-2, 11-32 Jesus was friends with people that had done bad things. Jesus loved them and forgave them for the bad things they had done. Jesus wanted them to learn about God and do things that God said to do. Some did not like that Jesus was friends with people that had done bad things. Some thought Jesus should only care about the people who already did the things that God said. But Jesus wanted the people to know that God cared about everyone. So Jesus told them stories to teach them. He told about a father and his two sons. The father loved his two sons and had saved some money for them. One day, the younger son said, “Father, give me my share of the family money." So the father divided the money between his two sons. The oldest son decided to stay at home with his father and save his money. But the younger son thought about all the fun things he could do with the money. He decided to leave his home.
