A Prayer for Teachers of Children

Father God, thank You for all who teach Your children. Thank You for their ministry.

Sustain them in health: strong in body, mind and spirit to move in faith, patience, and with expectation.

Protect them and keep them.

Encourage them to behold the beauty of Your holiness.

Bless their ears to hear the lovely, the uplifting, and the encouraging, and to shut out the demeaning and the negative. 

Cause their feet to walk in holiness and their steps ordered by You.

Bless their hands to be tender-helping hands to those in need, hands that bless. 

May their hearts be humble and receptive to those around them. 

May their minds be strong, disciplined, balanced and faith-filled. 

Your grace be upon their homes and classrooms that they may be havens of rest and renewal, sanctuaries of peace where the sounds of joy and laughter grace each room, where love and unconditional acceptance is never ending.

Grant success and prosperity in their places of ministry and life. May goodness and mercy follow each precious teacher all the days of their long, healthy lives.

Lord, bless them and keep them. Make Your face shine upon them, and be gracious to them. Lord, lift up Your countenance upon them and give them peace.

In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ we pray. amen.

Abraham and His Family Moved to a New Land

Genesis 12:1-9 Our story comes from the book, or part, of the Bible called Genesis. Genesis means "the beginning." A man and woman lived in a land called Ur. The man was named Abram and the woman was named Sarai. Abram and Sarai were husband and wife. God called Abram and Sarai and gave them new names! Abram means “nobel father.” But God changed his name to “Abraham,” which means “father of many.” Sarai” means “princess.” But God changed her name to “Sarah,” which means “mother of nations.” Now they were Abraham and Sarah, "father of many" and "mother of nations!" Genesis 27:41a; 32:9-21; 33:3-11 Our story comes from the book, or part, of the Bible called Genesis. Genesis means "the beginning." The Bible tells us about two brothers, Jacob and Esau. Jacob and Esau were twin brothers. They were the sons of Isaac and the grandsons of Abraham. Jacob and Esau were born at the same time and were the same age. But Esau was a couple of minutes older than Jacob. Because Esau was the oldest son, he would someday receive a special blessing from their father. That was very important.
