Moses and the Burning Bush
Exodus 3; Psalm 118:7
Our true Bible story comes from a book, or part, of the Bible called Exodus. The word “exodus” means to leave or go away from.
Our story tells us about a man named Moses. At the beginning of our story, Moses was a shepherd. He was taking care of this family’s sheep when something amazing happened.
In the distance, Moses saw a bush that was burning. But it wasn’t burning up! The leaves of the bush were still green.
Moses had never seen anything like it. He decided to take a closer look. When he got closer, Moses heard a voice from inside the bush. It was God! He said, “‘Moses, Moses!”
Moses said, “Here I am.”
God told Moses He had an important job for him. God wanted Moses to go talk to a mean king and save God’s people who were in Egypt.
But Moses was scared to talk to the mean king. He thought he wasn’t important enough to talk to a king.
But God said, “I will be with you.”
Moses was worried about what he would say, but again God promised, “I will be with you.”
God promised to always be with Moses.
Do you think He meant his promise? Yes, he did! And if God promised to always be with Moses, you can trust that God will always be with you, too! We can know for sure that God keeps His promises.
Bible Paraphrase: Trust the LORD with all your heart. – Proverbs 3:5, NCV
Text Truth: God promises to always be with me.
With your family, make a list of places. They can be anywhere: the doctor's office, your bedroom at bedtime, riding on an airplane or a train or a bus or a car, at a friend's home, playing at the beach or at a park, at the movies, at church, at school, at work, or other places. Talk with your family about the different places you listed. Pray with your family and use the list to thank God for keeping His promise to always be with us.

Family Devotional
But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?”
And God said, “I will be with you. And this will be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you will worship God on this mountain.” — Exodus 3:11-12 NIV
God spoke to Moses through a burning bush! He gave Moses a pretty big job to do and promised that He would always be with him. And when God makes promises, God keeps His promises. And because God loves us and keeps His promises, we can trust Him with all our heart, just like our memory verse tells us to do.And God said, “I will be with you. And this will be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you will worship God on this mountain.” — Exodus 3:11-12 NIV
