Matthew 2:1-2, 9-11 Our true story comes from a part of the Bible called the Gospel of Matthew. Matthew was a disciple of Jesus. That means Jesus was his teacher. And the word gospel means “good news!” Christmas is when we celebrate that Jesus was born. God loves us so much, that God gave us Jesus! Now, there were people called wise men who lived very far away. They were waiting for Jesus to be born because they knew Jesus was God’s Son.  After Jesus was born, God put a special star in the sky to show the wise men the way to Jesus so that they could celebrate Him.  The wise men knew they could follow the star to get to Jesus. It was a long journey, but they finally got there! The wise men were SO happy to see Jesus.  As soon as they saw Him, they gave Jesus gifts and worshipped Him. They wanted to show how special Jesus is. And we know Jesus is special because Jesus is God’s Son! God loves us so much that God gave us Jesus! Wow!  What an amazing story! Do you think we could start at th

Luke 1:26-33, 38; 2:1–21 Our true story comes from a part of the Bible called the Gospel of Luke. Luke loved Jesus and wanted others to know and love Jesus, too. And the word gospel means “good news!” We begin with a girl named Mary. God gave Mary an important message by sending an angel!  The angel gave Mary a VERY important message. Mary was surprised and a little afraid when she saw the angel. But the angel said, “Do not be afraid, Mary! God says you are going to have a baby and you will call Him Jesus.” WOW! That IS a very important message! Mary was going to have a baby! And not just any baby. Mary was going to have Jesus! Jesus is special because Jesus is God’s Son! Hooray for Jesus! Not long after that, Joseph and Mary had to travel to a town called Bethlehem.  Did Mary and Joseph stay in a big fancy castle, or did they stay in a stable where animals live? Yes, Mary and Joseph stayed in a stable where animals live. Because there were no rooms anywhere else. And that’s where Baby

Luke 2:8-21 Our true story comes from a part of the Bible called the Gospel of Luke. Luke loved Jesus and wanted others to know and love Jesus, too. And the word gospel means “good news!” We begin with a girl named Mary. God sent an angel to tell Mary that she would have a baby, and the baby would be named. Say it if you know it! JESUS! And Jesus is special because Jesus is God’s Son!  Not long after that, Mary and Joseph had to travel to a town called Bethlehem. Mary and Joseph didn’t stay in a super-fancy place. They stayed in a stable where animals live because there were no rooms anywhere else. And that’s where Baby Jesus was born. On the same day that Jesus was born, there were some shepherds in a field taking care of their sheep. Hmm . . . what do sheep sound like? When I count to three, let’s make a sheep sound together. One . . . two . . . three! “Baa-baa! Baa-baa!” While those shepherds watched their sheep, guess Who sent an angel to tell them that Jesus had been born. GOD! Go

Baby Jesus was about to be born!  Now tell me, is Jesus being born a little bit special or a BIG WHOLE LOT of special? YES! Jesus being born is a BIG WHOLE LOT of special because Jesus is God’s Son! So where did Joseph and Mary stay? Did they stay somewhere fancy, like a giant castle?  Or somewhere not so fancy, like a stable where animals live? Yes
