God Kept His Promise to Noah

Image
Genesis 8:1–9:17 Our true story comes from the book, or part, of the Bible called Genesis. The word genesis means “the beginning.” God told a man named Noah to build a big boat called an ark. And Noah did just what God told him to do. Then God sent two of EVERY animals to Noah—that’s why the ark was so big. It had to fit two giraffes, two elephants, two rhinos, and ALL their food! So, Noah put all the animals in the ark just like God told him to. Then God said, “Noah, you and your family get on the ark and stay there. I promise to keep you all safe.” And God kept His promise. Even after it rained for 40 whole days and 40 whole nights covering the WHOLE earth with water, God kept them safe. After lots and lots of days, the water went down, and land began to appear. Noah didn’t know if it was safe to come out yet, so he sent a dove to see if the bird could find land. Soon the dove came back. That meant there was no dry land yet. So, Noah and his fa

Genesis 6:8-33; 7:1-24 Our true story comes from a book, or part, of the Bible called Genesis. The word genesis means “the beginning.” Our story is about a man named Noah. One day, God told Noah to build a really, really, really big boat called an ark. Noah said, “Whaaat?” Noah had never seen a boat that big before. But God said, “Trust me, Noah!” So, Noah trusted God and built the ark just like God told him to. Noah’s family helped him. They built, and built, and built. Finally, the ark was done. Then, God told Noah to fill the ark with two of every animal—one boy and one girl. So, Noah gathered two of every animal—from the tall giraffes with the long necks to the slithering snakes to the alligators to the cute little hopping bunnies. So many animals. After all the animals were on board the ark, God told Noah to get his family and to go inside the ark, and then God closed the door. And that was a good thing because it soon began to rain! At first, it

Genesis 12 Our true story comes from the book, or part of the Bible called Genesis. Genesis means “the beginning.” Our story is about a man name Abraham and his wife Sarah. One night, God took Abraham outside and told him to look up at the stars. He promised Abraham that one day he would have a family with as many people in it as there were stars in the sky! Have you ever tried to count the stars? That’s a LOT. And that was a very big promise. Abraham and Sarah were ready to have a baby. So, they waited and waited and waited for God to keep His promise, but still there was no baby. “No problem,” Abraham thought. “God keeps His promises. We’ll just wait some more.” And wait. And wait. And wait. And wait. Abraham and Sarah didn’t just wait for hours or days. They waited for years until they were both very old. Then one day, God sent three men with a message. They told Abraham, “God wants you to know that Sarah’s going to have a baby one year from now.” Sarah heard wha

Exodus 13:17-18; 14 Our true Bible story comes from a book, or part, of the Bible called Exodus. The word “exodus” means to leave or go away from. Our story tells us about a man named Moses. Moses went to Egypt to save God’s people, the Israelites. They had been kept there by a very mean king. A king in Egypt is called Pharaoh. God promised to save His people from Pharaoh. So, Moses came to speak to Pharaoh. And Moses and Pharaoh met a lot and talked a lot. Finally, Pharaoh agreed to let the people go. Later, after saying he would let God’s people go, Pharaoh changed his mind. He came running after them on his chariot with all his army. Pharaoh’s army chased the Israelites all the way to the sea. What were the Israelites going to do? They had the sea on one side. And Pharaoh’s army quickly moving in on the other side. They couldn't go one way or the other. They looked left. They looked right. The Israelites were so scared, but God promise

Exodus 3; Psalm 118:7 Our true Bible story comes from a book, or part, of the Bible called Exodus. The word “exodus” means to leave or go away from. Our story tells us about a man named Moses. At the beginning of our story, Moses was a shepherd. He was taking care of this family’s sheep when something amazing happened. In the distance, Moses saw a bush that was burning. But it wasn’t burning up! The leaves of the bush were still green. Moses had never seen anything like it. He decided to take a closer look. When he got closer, Moses heard a voice from inside the bush. It was God! He said, “‘Moses, Moses!” Moses said, “Here I am.” God told Moses He had an important job for him. God wanted Moses to go talk to a mean king and save God’s people who were in Egypt. But Moses was scared to talk to the mean king. He thought he wasn’t important enough to talk to a king. But God said, “I will be with you.” Moses was worried about what he would say, but again G
