God Made Me

Genesis 1:26; Psalm 139:14 Our true story comes from a part of the Bible called Genesis. The word genesis means “the beginning.” Our true story also comes from a part of the Bible called Psalms. The word psalm means holy song or special song. We begin with . . . nothing. That’s because the world started with nothing. Do you know how HARD it is to make a whole world from nothing? Who do you think is the only one powerful enough to make the whole world from nothing? You’re right. Only God is THAT powerful. God made the whole world from nothing. He made plants and animals, trees, the sun, and the ocean. God created it all with His power! And then He made his most amazing creation. Do you know what it is? Take your finger and point to your chest. Yes! People! God made us. Now do you think when He made people that he needed hammers and screws and giant pieces of wood or bricks like construction people use when they make buildings? No! God didn’t need a hammer. He used His power.  And God ma

Nothing Can Separate Us from God’s Love

Romans 8:38-39 Our true story comes from a part of the Bible called the Letter to the Romans, which is a letter written to early Christians. These are train cars. They are so cool! Do you want me to show you the coolest part? They can go together . . .  . . . or they can separate! Do you know that word? Separate? Look . . .  I put them together. I separate them. I put them together. I separate them. Together. Separated. Our Bible story today is about how NOTHING can separate YOU from God’s love. It’s true!  God loves you when you feel sad, grumpy, or mad. Show me your sad face. Yep, God still loves you, even with a sad face or a mad face or a grumpy face! God loves you when you’re silly. Show me your silly face. God loves you, even when you’re silly. God loves you when you’re at your grandma’s house or the doctor. He loves you when you play on the playground or eat a snack. Do you think God loves you when you’re sleeping? Of course He does! Do you think God loves you when you’re in tim

Armor of God

Ephesians 6:10-17 Our true story comes from a part of the Bible called the Letter to the Ephesians, which is a letter written to early Christians. Our true story is about something we can put on—something very special. But first, a question: What do you wear to protect our clothes from food when you cook?  You wear an apron to protect your clothes when you cook. Let’s try something else. What do you wear to protect yourself from water when you go out in the rain? You wear a raincoat to protect yourself from the rain. Now, here is something cool. This is kind of like what a soldier would have worn when our Bible story was written. It’s called armor. Soldiers used to wear armor to protect them when they went into battle. The Bible teaches us that God gives us something very special to put on to protect us, too. It’s a special kind of armor that we can put on every day to help us remember to trust God and go His way! Do you know what this is? This is another kind of helmet. Now where does

Peter Walks on Water

Matthew 14:22-33 Our true story comes from a part of the Bible called the Gospel of Matthew. Matthew was a disciple of Jesus. That means Jesus was his teacher. And the word gospel means “good news!” We begin with a very special person named Jesus. Jesus is special because Jesus is God’s Son.  While Jesus was here on Earth, He did LOTS of things to show us how much God loves us . . .  . . . how God hears us when we pray . . .  . . . how God is always with us, and that we can trust God. Our story is about a time when Jesus showed His good friend, Peter, that he can trust God. It begins with a boat on the water. Jesus’ friends, the disciples, were in this boat out on the water. All of the sudden, they saw something they had never seen before. They saw a person WALKING ON WATER! Who can walk on the water? Well, the person got closer . . . and closer . . . and closer. The disciples were so scared! And when the person got closer, He said, "It’s me! Don’t be afraid!" IT WAS JESUS! J

Daniel 3:1-28 Our true story is found in a part of the Bible called Daniel. Daniel was a man that loved God very much and lived in a land called Babylon. We begin with a king named King Nebuchadnezzar. Now, King Nebuchadnezzar thought he was the very best king there ever was, and he wanted everyone to know it! One day, the king had a giant idea. King Nebuchadnezzar made a huge golden statue . . . of HIMSELF! But that’s not all. After the statue was made, King Nebuchadnezzar told ALL of the people to gather around, and he said, “Every time you hear the special music play, I want you to bow down to this statue.” But here is the really bad part. The king also said, “If you don’t bow down to the statue, I’m going to throw you . . . into the fire!” And the king was serious.  So, each day, the special music played, and everyone in the crowd bowed down to the statue. Everyone but three people.  Their names were Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. They were friends with God, and they knew that th
