Esther 2:2–8:17 Our true story comes from a part of the Bible called Esther. Esther loved God and trusted Him even when that was very hard to do. We begin with a king. This king looked everywhere for the most beautiful queen. The king had his people search and search to find a woman to be his queen.  And guess what? They found her. Her name was Esther. The king was so happy they found her that he married her. There was also a man named Haman. Haman worked for the king, but he did not love God. In fact, Haman had a plan to do something very mean to Esther’s family, who loved God very much.  One day, Haman told the king that he should get rid of a whole group of people—God’s people. When Esther heard about this, she was so upset. The king didn’t know that Haman’s plan would hurt Esther’s family and friends. Esther knew she could not let this happen. Esther loved God with her whole heart. But going to the king to ask for his help would be scary. She knew she might get in big trouble for g

Joshua 2:1-22; 6:22-25 Our true story comes from a part of the Bible called Joshua. Joshua was a great leader of God’s people, with God’s help. We begin with an army. God’s army.  And they were led by a man named Joshua.  Joshua knew God wanted his army to go to battle with Jericho, so he sent two sneaky spies to check it out. The spies went into Jericho to check things out. But there were soldiers looking for the spies. They had to hide out, and they needed help. Thankfully, a woman named Rahab came to the rescue. Hiding spies took a lot of courage because so many soldiers in the city were looking for them. And if the soldiers knew Rahab was hiding the spies, she would be in BIG trouble! But Rahab knew that these men were friends of God. She had heard about God and knew that He could do amazing things. That gave her courage. So, Rahab helped the spies get out of the city. Yay! The spies told Rahab to hang a red rope outside her window, and when God’s army came back to the city, they w

Judges 4 and 5 Our true story comes from a part called the Book of Judges. A judge is someone who tells people what the law says. We begin with a woman named Deborah. Deborah was the leader of all God’s people. She was their judge. Every day, Deborah would stand under a tree. The people would come to her with their big questions and ask her what to do. Deborah knew God was with her. She trusted God to help her be wise and tell the people the right thing to do. When God is with you, He helps you be wise and do the right thing. We make choices all the time! Like when you and your friend both want to play with the same toy. You can be wise and remember that God wants us to love others by sharing!  Or when your brother knocks over your blocks. You can be wise and use kind words instead of yelling at him.  Or when you see someone get hurt. You can be wise and remember that God wants us to help people. God was with Deborah and helped her be wise. God is always with you. He will help you be w

Exodus 1:22–2:10 Our true story comes from a part of the Bible called Exodus. The word “exodus” means to leave or go away from. We begin with a very special baby. This very special baby was named Moses.  Moses had a mother who loved him very much and a sister named Miriam. Moses’ mother, and his sister Miriam, loved him very much. But a very mean king wanted to get rid of all the baby boys in God’s family. Moses’ mom wanted to protect her precious baby. She knew that God was always with her and would always be with baby Moses. That helped her be brave. So, she and Miriam went down to the river and hid Moses in a basket in the tall grass. Then Miriam hid to watch and see what would happen. Do you think someone found baby Moses?  Someone DID find Moses! Do you know who it was? A princess. Do you think the princess helped baby Moses? Yes! The princess found baby Moses and decided to bring him home! But she needed someone to help her take care of the baby. You’ll never guess what happened.
