2 Samuel 6:12-15; Psalm 149:1-5 Our true story comes from a part of the Bible called Second Samuel (2 Samuel). The man Samuel loved God and told the people what God wanted them to know. Our true story also comes from a part of the Bible called Psalms. The word psalm means holy song (or special song). We begin with a man named David. David was King of Israel, and he loved God. David liked showing God that he was thankful. How do you think David thanked God? He danced! David danced because he was SO thankful to God. What else did David do to say thank you to God? Sing! David sang and used music to thank God. David danced and used music to tell God thank you. And so can we! We can thank God anytime and anywhere. We can thank God in the evening when we go to bed. We can thank God in the morning when we wake up. We can thank God when we’re driving in the car. We can thank God when we go to the park. I can thank God all the time. We can thank God in so many different ways, anytime, and anywh

Exodus 16 Our true story comes from a part of the Bible called Exodus. The word “exodus” means to leave or go away from. We begin with some people called the Israelites.  The Israelites were pretty unhappy. They were walking in a desert. Deserts are HOT! There are no trees to sit under in a desert. There’s no cool water to swim in. There are no grocery stores or restaurants for food. And the Israelites had been walking in a hot desert for a very long time. They walked and they walked and they walked. They were hot. And tired. And they were HUNGRY! Their tummies were growling. The Israelites were very hungry because they didn’t have any food! God knew that the Israelites needed food. So, God told their leader Moses that he would send food. At night, when the moon and stars were in the sky, God sent meat to eat. They had plenty of meat to eat! Everyone was so happy to have food. Thank you, God! Then, in the morning, when the sun was in the sky, there were small pieces of bread all over t

1 Samuel 18:1-4 Our true story comes from a part of the Bible called Second Samuel (2 Samuel). The man Samuel loved God and told the people what God wanted them to know. We begin with David. David was a shepherd who took care of sheep.  Then, there was Jonathan. Jonathan was the son of the king and lived in a palace. David and Jonathan were very good friends. They loved spending time together. They ate together. They walked together. They were good, good friends.  One time, Jonathan was so thankful for his friend, David, that he took off his coat and gave it to him! Then Jonathan gave David his sword and his bow. He even gave David his belt. Wow! David was so thankful that God gave him Jonathan to be his good friend!  What can WE do to show God we are thankful for? We can share things with them, like our toys.  We can share rides on our scooters.  We can even share food from our garden. We can share things with our friends to show we are thankful. What else can we do? We can use our mo

Ruth 1–2 Our true story comes from a part of the Bible Ruth. And that part of the Bible is named after someone in our story. We begin with a woman named Naomi. Naomi was sad. She was so sad because her husband and sons had died and she was alone. So, Naomi decided to go back to the town where she grew up. But there was Ruth. Ruth was married to Naomi’s son. Ruth said, “I’m your family, Naomi! Wherever you go, I will go. Wherever you live, I will live.” Wow! That’s awesome. That made Naomi feel HAPPY! Naomi was SO happy that she and Ruth were family and that she had someone to walk with her. So, Naomi and Ruth walked together all the way to the town where Naomi used to live.  When they got to the town where Naomi used to live, Ruth and Naomi took care of each other. They needed food because they were hungry. Ruth and Naomi’s tummies were rumbling because they were hungry. So, Ruth went to look for food to eat.  Not far from where they lived, there was a man named Boaz. Boaz had people w
