Daniel and the Lions

Daniel 6:1-23 Our true story is found in a part of the Bible called Daniel. Daniel was a man that loved God very much and lived in a land called Babylon. We begin with Daniel. Daniel loved God and prayed to Him every day. Daniel worked for King Darius. King Darius liked Daniel, and they were friends.  But this made some other guys jealous and grumpy. These grumpy guys wanted to get Daniel in trouble so the king wouldn’t like him anymore.  So, they made a tricky plan. They tricked the king into making a law that no one could pray to anyone but HIM. The law said that everyone had to pray to the king. And if they prayed to anyone else, they would be thrown into a den of hungry lions. What was Daniel going to do? If he prayed to God like he did every day, he could be thrown to the lions. What do you think? Do you think Daniel stopped praying to God? NOOOO! Daniel did NOT stop praying to God. Daniel knew God was more powerful than anything and that God wanted him to pray. So, he kept prayin

Daniel 1:8-17 Our true story is found in a part of the Bible called Daniel. Daniel was a man that loved God very much and lived in a land called Babylon. We begin with the king of Babylon, who had a very long name. His name was King Nebuchadnezzar. King Nebuchadnezzar had a training program because he wanted the people working for him to be the very best. And he chose several guys to be in it. One of those guys was named Daniel. Daniel loved God and followed Him. Daniel did what God told him to do. Let’s go back to King Nebuchadnezzar. You see, he wanted the people working for him to study so they could learn and learn all these new things. King Nebuchadnezzar even wanted them to have all the fancy food and drink right from his own table.  This was a problem for Daniel. Remember, Daniel loved God and followed Him. Back then, God had rules about what His people could eat. That meant Daniel would have to say no to all the fancy food and drink on the king’s table. That meant Daniel would

Moses and the Water

Exodus 17:1-7 Our true story comes from a part of the Bible called Exodus. The word “exodus” means to leave or go away from. God’s people, the Israelites, were led by a man named Moses.  And the Israelites all lived in the desert. In the desert, it can get really hot, and there was LOTS and LOTS of sand! But do you know what there was NOT a lot of? Water. There wasn’t much water, and God’s people got thirsty. Now when you or I get thirsty, there are lots of places we can get water. But the Israelites did not have ANY water, anywhere. God’s people started whining and complaining because they were thirsty and didn’t have any water. Moses knew the people needed water, but it was wrong to whine and complain about it. So, he talked to God. Moses told God that the people felt like God wasn’t helping them. But we know that God is always with us and has the power to help. Do you think God helped the thirsty people in the desert? Yes! God told Moses to go to a big rock, and God told Moses to go

Exodus 13:17-18; 14 Our true story comes from a part of the Bible called Exodus. The word “exodus” means to leave or go away from. We begin with God’s people! And a mean pharaoh, which is like a king. The pharaoh hurt God’s people and tried to keep them locked up with him.  So, God sent a man named Moses to help them. Moses told Pharaoh that God wanted him to, “Let His people go.”  Now, Moses had to tell him a lot of times to let the people go, and Pharaoh finally said, “Yes, God’s people can go.” God’s people were free. God, with His BIG power, saved the people from Pharaoh. Moses led the people away from Egypt and out to the desert. They walked and walked until they reached a really big sea.  But uh-oh! Pharaoh changed his mind! He wanted the people to come back. So, he sent soldiers after them.  God’s people were scared. They said, “What are we going to do Moses? There’s a REALLY big sea in front of us and Pharaoh’s soldiers are behind us. There’s nowhere for us to go!” But Moses re
