Exodus 2:4-10, 15:20-21; Micah 6:4 Our true story comes from a part of the Bible called Exodus. The word “exodus” means to leave or go away from. Our true story also comes from a part of the Bible called Micah. Micah loved God and told people what God wanted them to know. We begin with a woman named Miriam. The Bible teaches us that Miriam was sent by God to help His people. Miriam knew that God was with her, and that made her strong and courageous so she could do brave things. When Miriam was a young girl, she had a baby brother named Moses. To keep Moses safe, her mother had to hide him. Miriam’s mother put baby Moses in a basket and placed it in the tall grass by the river. Then Miriam was brave and stayed to watch over her baby brother. When a princess came to the water and saw Baby Moses, God helped Miriam be brave so she could talk to the princess and help keep her baby brother safe for a long time. Another time Miriam was brave was when she and her brother, Moses, were grown-ups

Esther

Esther 2:21–8:17 Our true story comes from a part of the Bible called Esther. Esther loved God and trusted Him even when that was very hard to do. There are several different people in our story. First, we have a queen named Esther. Queen Esther was one of God’s people, and she was a super brave helper.  Then, there was Haman. Haman worked for the king, but he did NOT love God. Haman tricked the king into making a plan that would hurt all of God’s people! OH, NO! If the king hurts God’s people, it will hurt Queen Esther’s family. When Queen Esther heard about Haman’s plan, she was so sad. She knew that she needed to help her family, God’s people. She needed to talk to the king. But there was one BIG problem! Queen Esther knew that you needed a special invitation to go talk to the king. Esther was afraid because she might get in trouble for going to see the king without being invited. Queen Esther asked all of God’s people to pray for her for three days. Count with me: One, two, three!

Daniel and the Lions

Daniel 6:1-23 Our story comes from the Bible. It is found in the part of the Bible called 1 Samuel (we say "First Samuel"). It is the first of two books in the Bible named after Samuel. We begin with a man named Daniel. Daniel loved God and prayed to God every day! Daniel knew that he could always trust God. Now, Daniel worked for the king. King Darius liked Daniel because Daniel was wise and worked VERY hard. The king liked Daniel so much that he wanted to put him in charge of everything. But this made some other people very jealous and angry. These angry people did NOT want the king to put Daniel in charge of everything, so they thought of a way to get Daniel in trouble. The angry people knew Daniel prayed to God every day. So, they decided to trick the king into making a new rule.  The new rule said that no one could pray to God. They could only pray to King Darius. And if anyone broke this new rule, they would be thrown into a den of hungry lions! OH MY! Now the new rule

David and Goliath

1 Samuel 17:1-50 Our true story comes from the Bible. It is found in a part of the Bible called First Samuel (1 Samuel). It is the first of two books in the Bible named after a man named Samuel. We begin with a boy named David.  David was a shepherd, which means he took care of sheep! David had to be very brave to protect his sheep both day and night. But David knew that God was always with him so he could be STRONG and COURAGEOUS. One day, David went to visit his brothers who were in God’s army. While he was with them, David heard this really big, scary giant named Goliath saying mean things to God’s army, the Israelites. Goliath teased the Israelites: (in a singing taunt) “Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah! Who’s going to challenge me?” The Israelites were so afraid. All of the Israelites were so afraid! But wait! Didn’t we just talk about someone who was strong and courageous because he knew that God is always with him? YES! It was David. Do you think David was brave enough to challenge the g
