Acts 16:13-15 Our story comes from a book of the Bible called Acts. That name is short for “the Acts of the Apostles.” The word "Apostle" is another word to describe a helper of Jesus. The Bible tells us about a man named Paul. He liked to tell people about Jesus. Paul went to many different cities and even countries so he could help people learn about Jesus. Some of Paul’s friends went with him: A man named Silas, another man named Luke, and a young man named Timothy. Tramp, tramp, tramp. One day, Paul and his friends went to a city named Philippi. Paul and his friends taught the people in Philippi about Jesus. They told everyone they met that God loved them and sent His Son, Jesus. On God’s special day, they went for a walk down by a river. The river was right outside of the town. Paul and his friends were looking for a quiet place where they could pray because there wasn’t a synagogue at Philippi. A synagogue in Paul’s time was like our church building

Acts 9:36-41 Our story comes from a book of the Bible called Acts. That name is short for “the Acts of the Apostles.” The word "Apostle" is another word to describe a helper of Jesus. There was a by the water called Joppa. It was a busy city. Many boats came and went. In Joppa was a Jewish woman who loved Jesus. Her name was Tabitha, which means gazelle. Tabitha also means “one who sees clearly.” Tabitha had many Greek friends who also loved Jesus. They called Tabitha by their Greek word for gazelle, Dorcas. In Greek, Dorcas also means beauty and grace. Dorcas showed her love for Jesus by helping others. When Dorcas saw children with ragged clothes, she sewed new coats for them. When Dorcas saw grown-ups with ragged clothes, she sewed new clothes for them, too. Snip, snip, snip. Dorcas cut some material. Sew, sew. Dorcas made clothes for the people that needed them. One day, Dorcas became very sick. Her friends tried to help her. But Dorcas was so

Acts 4:32-37 Our story comes from a book of the Bible called Acts. That name is short for “the Acts of the Apostles.” The word "Apostle" is another word to describe a helper of Jesus. Our Bible story tells us about some people who loved Jesus. The people were gathered together in a room. Buzz, buzz, buzz. The room filled with talking and laughter. The people called themselves Christians because they did what Jesus Christ said to do (Christian means "follower of Christ"). The Christians knew that Jesus was God’s Son. They wanted others to know about Jesus, too. Grandmas, grandpas, moms, dads, and children met together in homes. They would pray, sing, and learn about Jesus together. All these people loved Jesus. They were like one big, happy family. Because they loved Jesus, the Christians happily shared what they had more than others. Everything a person had was happily shared with the rest of the Bible-time Christians. They shared food so every

Acts 16:1-5; 2 Timothy 1:3-6; 2 Timothy 3:14-15 The pictures for our Bible story show a special kind of window, called a “stained glass” window. A stained glass window is a window made of a bunch of different pieces of colored glass. When the pieces are put together, they make a picture. Most of the stained glass windows in churches show scenes from Bible stories. The beautiful windows help the people learn and remember the Bible stories. Stained glass window, Notre Dame Cathedral, Paris, France. Our story comes from a book of the Bible called Acts. That name is short for “the Acts of the Apostles.” The word "Apostle" is another word to describe a helper of Jesus. Out story also comes from the book in the Bible called 2 Timothy, or "Second Timothy." We call it "Second Timothy" because it is the second of two letters in the Bible written from Paul to Timothy. The Bible tells us about different people who loved God. The Bible tells us about a youn
