David Wrote a Song about God

Psalm 23 Our story is found in the part, or book, of the Bible called Psalms. The Bible tells us about many people. One person is David. David was a shepherd. A shepherd is a person who takes care of sheep. David knew that his sheep got hungry every day. So, each day he would lead them to a field with lots of green grass. Sheep like to eat green grass. When the sheep got tired, they could lie down on the soft grass. David also knew that his sheep got thirsty. So, every day he would lead his sheep to a cool stream for a drink. David's stick is called a staff. David used it to lead his sheep around rocks in the paths. He stayed with them when they had to walk through dark, scary places. Every night, David gathered the sheep and led them inside their stone fence to sleep. The sheep would be safe there. One day, David thought about how he took care of the sheep. Genesis 46:5-7, 28-34; 47:1-12 Our story comes from the book, or part, of the Bible called Genesis. Genesis means "the beginning." Our story tells about a man named Joseph. Joseph loved God. For a long time, Joseph lived in Egypt, far away from his family. God had made him a leader in Egypt. Joseph had helped the people of Egypt to store food so they would have enough food to eat. Even though Joseph's family lived far away in Dothan, in the land of Canaan, Joseph still cared for them. One day, Joseph heard that his family didn't have enough food to eat. Joseph loved his family and wanted to help them. Joseph told the king of Egypt about his family. The king sent big carts to Canaan so Joseph's family could pack up their belongings and move to Egypt. The king told his dream to many people. But no one could tell the king what his dream meant. The king of Egypt called for Joseph. The king said, "I had a dream. No one can tell me what it means. Can you tell me what it means?" Joseph asked God to help him understand the king's dream. God helped Joseph. Joseph told the king, "There will be 1-2-3-4-5-6-7 good years. Abraham and His Family Moved to a New Land

Genesis 12:1-9 Our story comes from the book, or part, of the Bible called Genesis. Genesis means "the beginning." A man and woman lived in a land called Ur. The man was named Abram and the woman was named Sarai. Abram and Sarai were husband and wife. God called Abram and Sarai and gave them new names! Abram means “nobel father.” But God changed his name to “Abraham,” which means “father of many.” Sarai” means “princess.” But God changed her name to “Sarah,” which means “mother of nations.” Now they were Abraham and Sarah, "father of many" and "mother of nations!" Abraham grew up in the land called Ur. When he was grown, Abraham moved with his family to a new land called Haran. But then, in the land of Haran, God appeared to Abraham and told him to leave his country. God told Abraham to move to a new land. God promised to be with Abraham and show him where to go.
