John 21:1-14 Our true story is found in a part, or book, of the Bible called John. John loved Jesus and was one of the special helpers of Jesus. Jesus died and was put in a tomb. But three days later, Jesus came back as he promised. It was such good news! Not long after, some of Jesus’ friends were out fishing in a boat. While Jesus’ friends were fishing, they looked up and saw Jesus standing on the beach. They were so surprised to see their good friend Jesus! Jesus’ friends hurried to go see Him. When they got to Jesus, He was cooking food for them. They had a picnic with Jesus right there on the beach. Jesus told them He loved them, and He would always be their friend. It was the best day ever! Jesus wants to be your friend, too! Jesus loves you and is the best friend you will ever have. Jesus wants to be your friend forever! Bible Paraphrase:  A friend loves at all times. – Proverbs 17:17, NIrV Text Truth:  Jesus wants to be my friend for

Matthew 26:20-30; 27:45-50; 28:1-7 Our true story comes from a book of the Bible called Matthew. Matthew was one of the helpers of Jesus. Easter Sunday, also called Resurrection Sunday, is a day when we remember the most important true story in all the Bible. It begins with God’s love for every person in the whole, wide world. God loved us so much that He sent His Son—Jesus—to be our friend forever. Jesus told His friends that He had to go away, but He promised He would come back. One night, while Jesus was praying in a garden, some angry people came and took Jesus away. The angry people hurt Jesus and He died. Jesus was gone. All of Jesus’ friends were so sad they cried. Some people put Jesus’ body in a tomb and then rolled a big stone in front of it. Three sad days went by. And then on day three, something amazing happened! Some of Jesus’ friends went to the tomb... ...and when they got there the stone had been rolled away. JESUS WAS NOT THERE!

Matthew 21:1-16 Our true story comes from a book of the Bible called Matthew. Matthew was one of the helpers of Jesus. On Palm Sunday, we remember the day when Jesus came riding into the town of Jerusalem. When all the people heard Jesus was coming, they got so excited they grabbed palm branches and stood by the road so they could cheer for Jesus when He came by. When they saw Jesus, they waved their palm branches in the air and said, “Hosanna! Hosanna! Yay, Jesus!” The word “hosanna” means many things. Long ago, it meant “Save, please!” and was said about the special One that God would send. On this day in Jerusalem, the people knew Jesus was the One! And so, they shouted, “Hosanna!” to praise Jesus and to tell Him how special He was. The people thought Jesus was amazing because of all the amazing things He had done. Jesus had calmed a storm. Jesus had made sick people better. Jesus had even fed a whole lot of people with only a little bit of food. The people k

Jesus Washed the Feet of His Friends

John 13:3-17 Our true story is found in a part, or book, of the Bible called John. John loved Jesus and was one of the special helpers of Jesus. One night, Jesus was having dinner with His friends. While they were sitting around the table, Jesus did something that most people would never do. Jesus got a bowl and poured water in it. Then Jesus took the water and washed His friends’ feet. He went from friend to friend to friend. After Jesus washed each of His friends’ feet, He used a towel to dry them off. In the time of the Bible, people did not wear shoes, they wore sandals. And the did not ride in cars, they everywhere. That meant their feet got VERY dirty. If they walked in a mud puddle, all of that mud dried on their feet and it was yucky! Can you imagine all the dirt under their toenails? That’s what Jesus’ friends’ feet were like when He started washing them! Would you want to wash those dirty feet? No. Most people wouldn’t. But Jesus did. Jesus is such
