Luke 2:22-39 Our true story comes from a part of the Bible called the Gospel of Luke. Luke loved Jesus and wanted others to know and love Jesus, too. And the word gospel means “good news!” Our true story is about something called patience. Patience is choosing a happy heart when you’re waiting for something. Have you ever had to wait a long time for something? Maybe you’ve had to wait to open a present at Christmas or you’ve had to wait to eat. Or have you waited a long time to ride a fun ride? If you’ve ever had to wait for something, today’s story is for you. It’s a true story from the Bible. It’s about a man named Simeon. Simeon loved God, and he knew that God was sending someone very special.  God told Simeon that he would get to see this very special person. But Simeon didn’t know WHEN this very special person would come. He had to be patient and wait . . . And wait . . . And wait, and wait, and wait . . . and wait! Simeon chose to be patient. He didn’t whine and say, “This is tak

1 Samuel 25:1-35 Our true story comes from a part of the Bible called First Samuel (1 Samuel). The man Samuel loved God and told the people what God wanted them to know. We begin with a man named Nabal and his wife, Abigail.  Nabal had a lot of sheep. Like, A LOT of sheep! Taking care of a lot of sheep was a big job for Nabal’s workers. The workers had to feed the sheep, and water the sheep, and protect the sheep. Well, taking care of all of those sheep was such a big job! It was a good thing when a guy named David and his army came by! David and his army helped keep all of Nabal’s sheep safe. None of the sheep got hurt or went missing while David and his army were there. There was peace because the work was getting done and everyone was being friendly. Helping was a very nice thing for David and his army to do so they asked Nabal to give them whatever he could find for them, like food. Guess what Nabal told David and his army? He told them, no! He was NOT going to give David and his a

Acts 16:16-34 Our story comes from a part of the Bible called Acts. That name is short for “the Acts of the Apostles.” The word "Apostle" is another word to describe a helper of Jesus. Our true story is about two friends of Jesus named Paul and Silas.  One time, Paul and Silas were put in a place called “jail.” Being in jail meant that Paul and Silas could not go outside and see their friends or go in the kitchen and get something to eat whenever they wanted or do much of anything, really. When Paul and Silas were in jail, they had to just sit there. And sit . . . and sit . . . and sit! It was NOT fun. BUT guess what Paul and Silas decided to do while they were in jail? They chose JOY! Right there in the jail! They began singing and praising Jesus! They sang and sang . . . and they sang some more! There was so much JOY! You see, Paul and Silas knew that no matter where they were, Jesus was still their friend forever. And Jesus helped them choose JOY! Then, something amazing h

We Love Because God Loves Us

1 John 4:9-13 Our true story comes from a part of the Bible called  the First Letter of John. The letter was written by John because he loved Jesus and wanted everyone to know about Him. Our true story begins with God. Do you know that God LOVES you? It’s true! God LOVES you! Because God loves us so much, He gave us the best gift ever! God gave us His Son, Jesus, to be our friend forever. Baby Jesus was born on the very first Christmas.  Did Jesus stay a little baby?  No. Baby Jesus grew up to do amazing things that only He can do, AND He showed us how to love others.  matter where Jesus went or what He was doing, Jesus stopped to show people that He loved them.  Like one day, Jesus stopped to talk to a man named Zacchaeus, even though Zacchaeus had made bad choices. Jesus loved Zacchaeus, no matter what.  On another day, Jesus had been teaching ALL day, and He wanted to take a rest. But Jesus loved all of the people, and He wanted to help them. So, Jesus kept teaching them instead of
