Joshua 2:1-24, 6:24-25 Our true story comes from a part of the Bible called Joshua. Joshua was a great leader of God’s people, with God’s help. We begin in a city called Jericho! Now, there was a leader named Joshua who was the leader of God’s army!  Joshua sent two spies to explore the city of Jericho. Joshua told the spies to check out the city. So, they did! Inside the city, lived a woman named Rahab. Rahab had heard how powerful God is! She believed in the great things God had done. And that made her strong and courageous! Believing how powerful God is made Rahab brave. Rahab let the spies in her house because so many soldiers in the city were looking for them. If the soldiers knew that Rahab was hiding the spies, she would be in big trouble!  But Rahab knew that the spies were friends of God, so she wanted to help them. Then when it was time for the spies to leave, Rahab was brave again and helped them safely get out of the city.  As the spies were leaving, they told Rahab to hang

2 Kings 5:1-14 Our true story comes from a part of the Bible called Second Kings or 2 Kings. It is the second book in the Bible that tells about the kings of Israel. We begin with a very important man who led a lot of soldiers! His name was Naaman!  Naaman was sick. He had boo-boos all over his skin, and there was no medicine to make him feel better.  But a girl who worked for Naaman told him that a man named Elisha could help him! Elisha loved God, and he was a prophet, which meant he gave people messages from God.  Elisha heard that Naaman needed help . . . so, Elisha sent a messenger to tell Naaman to go to the water and dip in it seven times. Naaman had a choice to make. Would he do what God said and dip in the water seven times? Or would he keep looking for another way to get better? What do you think Naaman should do? Guess what? Naaman didn’t do what God said! He didn’t understand why God would want him to dip in the water seven times!  But Naaman’s workers told him that he shou

Jonah 1:1–3:10 Our true story comes from a part of the Bible called the Book of Jonah. Jonah loved God and wanted others to know God, too. We begin with a man named Jonah. God had a special job for him. God told Jonah to go to the city of Nineveh to tell the people who lived there to do what God says and love one another. But Jonah didn’t want to go to Nineveh. Jonah had a choice to make. Should Jonah do what God says and go to Nineveh? Or should he run away and get on a boat? What do you think? Well, Jonah got on a boat! Jonah ran away. Jonah didn’t do what God said. Oh, no, Jonah! God loved Jonah and knew what was best for him and the people in Nineveh.  So, God sent a big storm while Jonah was on the boat. It rained harder and harder. The boat moved this way and that way! Everyone on the boat was scared! Jonah knew that God sent the storm for him, so he wanted to get off the boat to keep the other people safe. Jonah told the men to help him get in the water and the storm would stop.

Exodus 13:17-18; 14 Our true story comes from a part of the Bible called Exodus. The word “exodus” means to leave or go away from. We begin with a man who was pharaoh. Pharaoh was the king of a place called Egypt, and he did very mean things to God’s people, the Israelites. Pharaoh made them do very hard work without paying them for a very, very, VERY long time. And Pharaoh wouldn’t let them leave! God saw that His people needed help, so God sent a man named Moses to lead them to a better place to live. God used Moses to make Pharaoh let His people go. So Moses led the people out of Egypt, away from Pharaoh, and into the desert.  While they were in the desert, God told Moses to tell all the people to camp near the Red Sea. The people didn’t understand why God would send them that way. Now they have a choice to make. Will Moses and the Israelites go God’s way or their own way? What should they do? Yes, they went God’s way! While they were camping, they looked up and saw Pharaoh and his
