Matthew 4:23-25; 8:14-15 Our story comes from the Bible. It is found in the book, or part, of the Bible called Matthew. Matthew was one of the special helpers of Jesus. The Bible tells us many people came to see Jesus. They heard Him teach about God's love. If people were sick or hurt, Jesus made them well. The news about Jesus spread all over the country. Jesus walked from town to town. Jesus taught men, women, and children about God everywhere He went. He told them how much God loved them. Some people brought friends and family members who were sick with all types of sicknesses. Some of the people were sick. Some people couldn't walk. Others couldn't see. Whatever was wrong with them, Jesus made them well. Many people came a long way to see Jesus. Some even came from other parts of the country. Large crowds followed Him wherever He went. Luke 7:36-50 Our story comes from the Bible. It is in a part, or book, of the Bible called Luke. Luke loved Jesus and wrote about Him so that others could know Jesus and love Jesus, too. The Bible tells us that many different people followed Jesus wherever He went. Some of the people were poor and had no money. Some of the people were rich and had a lot of things. But Jesus loved all of them. One day, an important man named Simon asked Jesus to have dinner with him. Jesus went to Simon's house. He sat down to eat at the table. A certain woman lived in the same town as Simon. She had done some bad things. When the woman found out that Jesus was eating at Simon's house, she went to see Jesus. Simon was not happy that the woman came. He did not like the bad things the woman had done. But the woman was sorry for the bad things she had done. One day, when Jesus saw the crowds, He went up on the side of a mountain and sat down with His helpers. The Bible tells us that Jesus liked to pray. When He prayed, He talked to God, His Father in heaven. Jesus spent time talking to God. Sometimes Jesus would go away from His friends and helpers to talk to God in a quiet place. One day, Jesus was talking to His helpers on the side of a mountain. Other people came to listen to what Jesus was telling them. Jesus loved His friends and the people that were listening. He wanted them to pray as He did. So, Jesus showed them how to talk to God.
