God Gives Jesus

Luke 1:26-33, 38, 46-49 Our true story comes from the Bible. It is in the part, or book, of the Bible called Luke. Luke loved Jesus and wanted others to know and love Jesus, too. Our true story of Christmas begins with one of the first people God told about Jesus. She was a young woman named Mary who lived in a small town called Nazareth. How do you think God told Mary about Jesus? Did God call her on the phone? No! Did God use an airplane to write a message in the sky? No! God sent...an ANGEL! When Mary saw the angel, she was surprised and afraid! But the angel said, "Don't be afraid, Mary. God loves you, and I have good news!" The angel said, "You are going to have a baby boy. He will be God’s Son, and His name will be Jesus!" The good news was that God loves us so much, He gave us His Son, Jesus, to be our friend forever! We know God loves us because God gave us Jesus! Bible Paraphrase:  God has given a son to us.  –

Luke 17:11-19 Our true story comes from a book, or part, of the Bible called Luke. Luke loved Jesus and wanted others to know and love Jesus, too. Our story begins with ten men who were sick. These men were sick with something called leprosy. They had spots all over their bodies. A long time ago when people had leprosy they would have to leave the town and their families and live by themselves so they wouldn’t get anyone else sick. Can you imagine having to leave all of your family because you were sick? It was so sad. And no one knew what could make them better, except for Jesus! One day, these lepers met Jesus. "Jesus!" the men said, "Please make us better! We are sick and no one but You can help!" Do you think Jesus helped? Yes, He did! Jesus told them to go find the priest in the village. So they went off to see the priest. And guess what happened. All their spots disappeared! Jesus made them all better! They all ran home to find t

The Israelites Were Thankful

Exodus 16 Our true Bible story comes from a book, or part, of the Bible called Exodus. The word “exodus” means to leave or go away from. Our story starts in a desert. Deserts are super hot and sandy and you get really sweaty. The Israelites found themselves in the desert. And they weren’t exactly happy. In fact, they were super hot and super sweaty. Not only that, but the Israelites were also hungry. So hungry! God saw that His people were hungry. And so, through their leader Moses, God told the people that He would rain down bread for them from heaven and when they woke up, they could eat it. So that night while everyone was sleeping God made it rain bread! Isn't that so cool? God made bread come down from the sky! When the people woke up, they were so excited. "God gave us food today. Thank You, God!" They were so thankful. But soon the people didn’t look thankful at all. You know what they were? They were worried. What if they didn’t

David Was Thankful

1 Samuel 18:1-4 Our true story comes from the Bible. It is found in the book, or part, of the Bible called First Samuel (1 Samuel). It is the first of two books in the Bible named after a man named Samuel. Our awesome story is about two good friends named David and Jonathan. Jonathan was the son of the king. David and Jonathan were such good friends that they did everything together. They ate together. They walked together. Jonathan was so thankful for his friend, David, that he even gave him his own coat and sword and bow and belt! What a good friend. David was so thankful that God gave him Jonathan. They loved each other the way we want our friends to love us! What could we do to show our friends we’re thankful for them? We should share things—like snacks. We could share our toys. And we could share rides on our scooters. What else could we do? We could use our mouths! We could use our mouths to say kind words! We could say things like, "I like you
