Jesus Prepares a Place

John 14:2-3; Acts 1:1-11 WATCH VIDEO Our true story is found in the Bible. Some of our true story is found in the Gospel of John. The word "Gospel" means "good news!" And some of our true story is found in the part of the Bible called Acts, which is short for "the Acts of the Apostles." And apostle is someone who is sent to teach others about Jesus. Our story is about a place called heaven. Have you ever heard about heaven? Well, one day, when Jesus was with His friends, the disciples, He told them He would go away soon. He said He was going to a special place called heaven to get everything ready for all of the people who believe in Him. Jesus said this place is very big and has lots of rooms.  Later, after Jesus died and came back, He visited many of His friends. He wanted them to see with their own eyes that He is alive. Acts 28:11-31 WATCH VIDEO Our true story comes from a part of the Bible called Acts, which is short for “the Acts of the Apostles.” An apostle is someone who is sent to teach others about Jesus. Our story is about a man named Paul. Paul believed in Jesus. He wrote letters to people telling them that Jesus is alive and He wants to be their friend forever.  Paul also traveled to cities to tell people, "Jesus is alive! And He wants to be your friend forever!" One of the cities Paul traveled to was called Rome. Rome is a big, beautiful city, and lots of people live there. The people in Rome are very smart, and they like to talk about important things. So, while Paul was in Rome, he talked with the people about Jesus. Paul knew that nothing is more important than Jesus! Lots and lots of people came to hear what Paul had to say about Jesus. Acts 17:16-34 WATCH VIDEO Our true story comes from a part of the Bible called Acts, which is short for “the Acts of the Apostles.” An apostle is someone who is sent to teach others about Jesus. Our story is about a man named Paul. Paul believed in Jesus. He told everyone, “Jesus is alive! And He wants to be your friend forever!” One day, Paul went to a city called Athens. The people in Athens worshiped statues made of stone instead of believing in Jesus. Paul looked around at all of the stone statues, and he told the people, “Hey, you have a lot of statues, but you’re MISSING something. You’re not worshiping the one true God. The God who made everything!” The people wanted Paul to tell them more, so he did! He told them how God made the whole world and everything in it. Paul told them how God made the sky, water, sun, moon, stars, trees, flowers, birds, fish, animals—God made all of it! The people were AMAZED and wanted Paul to tell them more. So, he did! Luke 22:54-62; John 21:15-19; Ephesians 2:8-9 WATCH  VIDEO Our true story comes from the Bible with the help of our friends Luke, John and Paul. We have been learning that Jesus loves everyone. But do you think that really means EVERYONE? No matter what? Our true story will help us answer that question.  When Jesus was teaching people how to love each other, He had a good friend named Peter. Jesus and Peter spent a lot of time together, and Jesus taught Peter about God’s love. Jesus also let Peter help Him do important jobs. One time, they fed THOUSANDS of people with just one boy’s lunch. Can you imagine how amazing that was to help Jesus feed all of those people with just one lunch? Wow! Jesus and Peter would even go fishing together. Jesus and Peter were great friends.  Then, one night some angry soldiers took Jesus away.  They hurt Jesus and said mean things to Him.
