The people called themselves Christians because they did what Jesus Christ said to do (Christian means "follower of Christ"). The Christians knew that Jesus was God’s Son. They wanted others to know about Jesus, too. Grandmas, grandpas, moms, dads, and children met together in homes. They would pray, sing, and learn about Jesus together. All these people loved Jesus. And the Bible says that when we talk to God, He hears us! Some people think you must use big, fancy words to talk to God. And some people think you have to be a grown-up who is super smart. But that is not true. You can talk to God. It does not matter if you are very young or very old. You can talk to God! You can talk to God when you wake up in the morning. You can talk to God when you go to bed at night. You can talk to God when you are riding in a car. You can talk to God anytime, anywhere, about anything. And the Bible says God will hear you! What can you talk to God about? You can tell God a funny joke or how your sister made you mad or when you're scared of something or sad about something.
