God Made Land, Plants, Sea

Genesis 1:9-13

Our true story comes from a book, or part, of the Bible called Genesis. The word genesis means “the beginning.”

We have learned that in the very beginning there was nothing but God. Then, God made everything!

Day one, God made the light and dark. Day two, God made the sky above the water. And it was good.

On day three, God made LAND! And God made SEAS! But that’s not all! There’s more!

On day three, God also made PLANTS!

So on day three, God made the land, plants, and seas! And it was good.

Count with me: Day one, God made the light and dark. Day two, God made the sky above the water. Day three, God made land, sea, and plants! And these were just SOME of the things God made. Because God made everything!

Bible Paraphrase: God saw everything he had made. And it was very good. – Genesis 1:31, NIrV

Text Truth: On day three, God made the land, plants, and sea.

Family Devotional

Then God said, “Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds.” And it was so. The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the third day. – Genesis 1:9-13

The world is full of so many amazing things! When you think about all of these amazing things, it shows us how amazing God really is.

In our Bible story, we learned that on day three, God made the land, plants, and the sea. He made all of the jungles and super tall mountains and deserts of sand and volcanoes and all kinds of trees and flowers and berry bushes and vegetables and huge seas with big crashing waves! God really did make everything!

God saw everything he had made. And it was very good– Genesis 1:31 NIrV

With your family, make a list of your favorite things to do on land and in the sea. Your thing can be hiking, digging in the dirt, or making sand castles. Or it can be fishing, swimming, playing in the waves, or going on boat rides. There are so many fun things to do on the land and in the sea!

Pray with your family. Allow any family members to pray if they wish. Thank God for making such an awesome world for you to live in. Thank God for making the land, the plants and the seas. Acknowledge to God that you love... (read through your list). Ask God to help you never lose sight of how wonderful the things God made are and that you are always thankful.
