God Loves Us So Much

Our true story is found in at part of the Bible called the Gospel of John. The word "Gospel" means "good news!" 

To begin our story, hold up a finger and point it at...YOU! Today’s true story from the Bible begins with YOU!


Do you know that God made you and you are VERY important to Him? It’s true! God REALLY loves you . . . A LOT! God made you and loves you with His whole heart! That’s a lot of love! But it’s about to get even bigger.


God loves everyone in the whole, wide world! That’s right. God’s love is SO big, He loves everyone in the world—EVERYONE! You could live anywhere in the whole, wide world, and God loves you. God made everyone in the whole world, and because God made us, He loves us—with His whole heart.


And do you know how we know God loves us with His whole heart? God loves us so much that He gave us a very special gift. It was the very best gift of all! Do you know what that special gift is? God loves every person in the whole, wide world SO much He gave us . . . JESUS!


God loves the world so much that He gave us Jesus! Now you say it: "God loves...the world...so much…that He gave us Jesus!"


Say it again: "God loves...the world...so much…that He gave us Jesus!"


Say it one more time: "God loves...the world...so much…that He gave us Jesus!"


Jesus is special, because Jesus is God’s Son. And Jesus wants to be your friend forever! Okay, take your finger and point to yourself again. And please, never, EVER forget this: God made YOU, and God loves YOU so much that He gave YOU Jesus to be your friend forever!


One more time: God made YOU, God loves YOU so much that He gave YOU Jesus to be your friend forever!

Family Devotional

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. —John 3:16

Our Bible story was about how important you are to God. God loves you SO much, He sent His Son, Jesus, to be your friend forever! That’s a lot of love! Do you know why you are so important to God? Because God made you!

I am fearfully and wonderfully made. —Psalm 139:14, NIV

You are important to God! With your family, one by one, have each family member stand and announce (out loud), "I am important to God!"

Pray with your family. Allow any family members to pray if they wish. In your own words, acknowledge to God that it feels good to know that you are SO important to Him and that He gave you Jesus to be your friend forever. Ask God that if (name the members of your family) ever wonder whether they really are important to anyone, that they will remember how very important they are to Him. Ask God to help them remember the He loves tehm with the greatest love. Thank God for His love and acknowledge to God your love for Him.

Genesis 26:12-25 Take-Home Our story comes from the book, or part, of the Bible called Genesis. Genesis means "the beginning." The Bible tells us about a man named Isaac. God gave Isaac lots of land.
