God’s Plan for Me

Image
Jeremiah 29:11 Our true story comes from a part of the Bible called the Book of Jeremiah. Jeremiah loved God and told people what God wanted them to know. We have had an awesome month learning some true stories from the Bible about God’s plans! So far, we have learned about two people named Noah and Joseph. God had plans for them both. God planned for Noah to build a really BIG boat to save his family and the animals. AND God put a rainbow in the sky to remind us that God always keeps His promises. Noah trusted God’s plans. Way to go, Noah! And God had plans for Joseph, too. Joseph had to do many hard things. God used Joseph to save a LOT of people, even Joseph’s family. Way to go, Joseph! Okay, so now hear is something really important about God’s plans. God knows the plans He has for YOU! That’s right! God has plans for you. YOU! God LOVES you and has amazing, incredible, wonderful plans for you! That is so exciting. So, how do we know God’s plans? We can talk to God and ask him. We ...

Joseph and the Grain

Genesis 41–45 Our true story comes from a part of the Bible called Genesis. The word genesis means “the beginning.” In our last story, we talked about a man named Joseph. Joseph’s dad gave him a very special coat, which made his brothers VERY mad!  So, Joseph's brothers sent Joseph far away to work. Then Joseph was sent to jail for something he didn’t even do! Do you think Joseph still trusted God even though it was hard? Yes, he did! And God’s plans for Joseph weren’t finished, yet. The king of Egypt, named Pharaoh, had a crazy dream, and he didn’t know what it meant. Pharaoh heard that Joseph was very good at understanding dreams . . . . . . so, Pharaoh had Joseph brought to the palace to talk to him. Joseph was happy to talk to the king about his dream. Joseph listened to Pharaoh and God helped Joseph understand the dreams. Joseph told Pharaoh to save food for seven years because, after that, there would be seven years when NO food would grow. Pharaoh was SO happy that Joseph he...

Joseph’s Journey

Genesis 37; Genesis 39–40 Our true story comes from a part of the Bible called Genesis. The word genesis means “the beginning.” We begin with a person named Joseph. Joseph trusted God. And God had plans for him. One day, Joseph’s father gave him a special gift. It was a coat! A beautiful coat. But Joseph's older brothers were mad because of the present that Joseph received from their dad. How would you feel if someone gave your brother a very special coat and not you? That’s kind of how Joseph’s brothers felt. They were mad and jealous of this very special coat. They didn’t like that their dad had given Joseph a special coat and they didn’t get one. And they really didn’t like how Joseph talked and talked about the dreams he had. So they put Joseph in a hole and took his special coat. How do you think Joseph felt? That was so hard. But Joseph trusted God’s plan for him. Then the brothers sent Joseph far away . . .  . . . to the land of Egypt to work. Joseph didn’t know if he would ...

God’s Promise

Genesis 8–9:17 Our true story comes from a part of the Bible called Genesis. The word genesis means “the beginning.” A man named Noah trusted God’s plans. God told Noah to build something REALLY big. Do you know what it was? Yes! A big, HUGE boat. Then God sent two of every animal to get on the boat. There were penguins, frogs, alligators, sloths, butterflies, and every kind of animal on Earth.  Once all of the animals and Noah’s family were on the boat, God shut the door, and it began to rain! It rained and rained until the whole Earth was covered with water! God kept Noah, his family, and the animals safe. After the rain stopped, Noah wanted to see if it was okay to get out of the boat, so he sent a bird to fly out and find dry land.  The bird flew away, but it came back with nothing.  So, Noah waited, then he sent the bird out again. This time, the bird brought back a fresh green leaf! Yay! That means there was dry land where plants were growing!  Then God told No...
