Jeremiah

Jeremiah 31:3, 29:11

Our true story comes from a part of the Bible called Jeremiah, named after a man who loved God and told people about God so that they could love Him, too.

Jeremiah was a prophet. That means his job was to talk about God to others. Jeremiah told other people God’s messages.

One day, God gave Jeremiah a very special message to give to the people. Jeremiah talked about God with others.

Jeremiah gave the people a message from God. He said, “God has plans for you. And God will always love you!” And we can talk about God with others like Jeremiah did! We can talk about God to others and tell them that God loves them and God has plans for them!

Can you think of someone you can talk about God to? We can talk about God with our friends. We can tell them, “God loves you!”

We can talk about God with our neighbors. We can tell them, “God loves you!”

We can talk about God with the person at the grocery store. We can tell them, “God loves you!”

We can talk about God with our teachers. We can tell them, “God loves you!”

We can talk about God with all our family. We can tell them, “God loves you!”

Because God LOVES everyone! That means God loves you and God loves me. So, when anyone asks you, “Who loves you?” You can say, “God loves you!”

Bible Paraphrase: “I will always love you.” —Jeremiah 31:3, CEV

Text Truth: I can talk about God to others.

Family Devotional

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Jeremiah 29:11

In our Bible Story, Jeremiah talked about God to other people. I wonder if he marched from person to person or if he hopped! No matter how he got there, Jeremiah made sure to talk about God and let people know that God loved them, and God had plans for them. We can talk about God to others too, because God loves everyone! That means God loves you! And you can say, “God loves me!”

“I will always love you.” —Jeremiah 31:3, CEV

With your family, take a piece of paper and make a list of people you can talk about God to. Have each family member write down the name of one person they can talk to about God. And make sure each family member writes their name next to the person the will talk to about God.

Pray with your family. Allow any family members to pray if they wish. In your own words, say, “Dear God, thank You for loving us. We want everyone to know that You love them too. Help us talk about You with (read the list your family made) so they will know that You love them and have plans for them. We love You, God. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
