God Knows Everything about Me
Psalm 139:1-4; Matthew 10:30
Our true also story comes from a part of the Bible called Psalms. The word psalm means holy song or special song. Our true story also comes from a part of the Bible called the Gospel of Matthew. Matthew was a disciple of Jesus. That means Jesus was his teacher. And the word gospel means “good news!”
We begin with someone very important . . . it’s YOU! Do you know who thinks you’re important? God! God thinks you’re important. God loves you so much and God knows everything about you.
Let’s play a game to learn more! It’s called, “God knows.”
Let’s try it. Does God know when you are happy? Yes, God knows when you’re happy.
Does God know when you’re sad? Yes, God knows! God knows when you’re sad.
Does God know when you sit down? Yes, God knows!
Does God know when you stand up? Yes, God knows! God knows when you sit down or stand up.
Does God know the words you’re going to say to a friend? Yes, God knows! God even knows what you’re going to say to your friend before you say it!
Hey, did you notice all of the answers were, “YES, God knows!”? Wow! God is amazing and God knows everything about you and me.
God even knows how many hairs are on our heads! That’s pretty amazing. Let’s see if we can count all the hairs on your head. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 . . . 6, 7, 8, 9, 10! There are so many hairs! We can’t count them all, but God can. Does God know how many hairs are on our heads? Yes, God knows!
God knows exactly how many hairs are on our heads. God knows everything about you and me because we are important to God. Wow! God made you wonderful, and God made me wonderful! So, when anyone asks you, “Who made you wonderful?” Say, “God made me wonderful!”

Family Devotional
And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
—Matthew 10:30
In our Bible Story, we learned that God knows everything about us. God even knows how many hairs are on your head! You are THAT important to God! So, every time you look in the mirror, you are looking at someone important who is wonderfully made by God! So, when anyone asks you, “Who made you wonderful?” Say, “God made me wonderful!”
How you made me is amazing and wonderful. —Psalm 139:14, NIrV
With your family, grab a piece of paper and write down your guess for how many hairs are on your head. Have each family member write down how many hairs they think are on their head. And make sure each family member writes their name next to their guess.
Pray with your family. Allow any family members to pray if they wish. In your own words, say, “Dear God, thank You for teaching us how important we are to You. (Say each family member’s name) are all so important to You, that You even know how many hairs are on their head! Thank You that You made us amazing and wonderful and that You love us! We love You, God. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
