God Made Me

Genesis 1:27; Psalm 139:13-14

Our true story comes from a part of the Bible called Genesis. The word genesis means “the beginning.” Our true also story comes from a part of the Bible called Psalms. The word psalm means holy song or special song.

We begin with . . . YOU! God made you inside and out. That’s what today’s story is all about.

Put your hands on your head. God made your head. God made your head wonderful! Say, “God made me wonderful.”

Let’s talk about something else God made. Pat your tummy. This is where your food goes. God made your tummy, and God made it wonderful. Say, “God made me wonderful.”

Stomp your feet. God made our feet! God gave us feet with wiggly toes. Wiggle your toes and your feet.  God made your feet wonderful! Say, “God made me wonderful.”

God made every part of you. Your hands . . .

. . . your feet . . .

. . . your mouth . .

. . . and your eyes! God made your eyes. God made some eyes brown, some eyes blue, and some eyes green. Some people even have one brown eye and one blue eye! God made all of our eyes, and that’s wonderful! Say, “God made me wonderful.”

Tap your nose. We all have different noses, and God made us all wonderful! Say, “God made me wonderful.”

Point to your hair. God made your hair. Some people have straight hair. Some people have curly hair. Some people don’t have hair at all! We all have different kinds of hair, and God made us all wonderful! Say, “God made me wonderful.”

Thank You, God, for making us wonderful! So, when anyone asks you, “Who made you wonderful?” Say, “God made me wonderful!”

Bible Verse: How you made me is amazing and wonderful. Psalm 139:14, NIrV

Family Devotional

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
Psalm 139:13-14

In our Bible Story, we learned that God made everyone, and how God made you is amazing and wonderful! That’s why when someone asks you: “Who made you wonderful?” you can say “God made me wonderful!”

How you made me is amazing and wonderfulPsalm 139:14, NIrV

With your family, take a piece of paper and make a list of the names of your family. Have each member of your family write down their name on the paper. And if you have some star-shaped stickers, place a sticker by the name of each family member, because God made them wonderful!

Pray with your family. Allow any family members to pray if they wish. In your own words, say, “Dear God, You are amazing and wonderful, and You make amazing and wonderful people. You made [family member’s name] wonderful! You made [family member’s name] wonderful! You made . . . (say this with each family member’s name). I pray that we always remember that how You made us is amazing and wonderful. We love You, God. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
