Jonah 1:1–3 Our true story comes from a part of the Bible called the Book of Jonah. Jonah loved God and wanted others to know God, too. We begin with a man named Jonah. One day, God told Jonah to go to the city of Nineveh to tell the people who lived there to do what God says and love one another. But there was a problem. Jonah did not want to go to Nineveh. So, what do you think Jonah did? Jonah went the other way and got on a boat! Uh-oh! Do you think God was with Jonah even when he went the other way? Yes! God loved Jonah and was always with him. While Jonah was on the boat, there was a big storm. There was rain, and wind, and thunder. The other people on the boat were afraid, but Jonah was sleeping! “Wake up, Jonah!” When Jonah woke up, he saw the storm. He knew that if he got off the boat, the storm would stop. So, Jonah told the people on the boat to put him in the water. So that’s what they did, and the storm stopped. Do you think God was with Jonah in the water? Yes! God loved ...

He heard that Joseph was very good at understanding dreams . . . . . . so Pharaoh had Joseph brought to the palace to talk to him. Do you think God was with Joseph when he talked to Pharaoh? Yes! God was always with Joseph, and God had plans for Joseph. Joseph listened to Ph...

Genesis 21:14-20 Our true story comes from a part of the Bible called Genesis. The word genesis means “the beginning.” We begin with a woman named Hagar and her son, Ishmael. Hagar and Ishmael were in a desert. Is it hot or cold in a desert? HOT! This desert was really hot and dry, and Hagar and her son, Ishmael, were very tired and hot. What do you need when you are tired and hot? That’s right! You need something to drink. Hagar and Ishmael were very thirsty, but they ran out of water to drink. Do deserts have a lot of water in them? No. It’s really hard to find water in the desert. Hagar and Ishmael didn’t see any water. Hagar began to cry, and her son began to cry too.  But God was WITH Hagar and Ishmael! An angel of God said to Hagar, “God has heard the boy crying” (Genesis 21:17, NLT). Right then, God helped Hagar see a well of water! Hagar quickly filled a bottle with water and gave Ishmael some water to drink. Ishmael wasn’t thirsty anymore! Yay! God heard Hagar and Ishmael ...
