God Knows Me!

Psalm 139:1-4; Matthew 10:30

Our true also story comes from a part of the Bible called Psalms. The word psalm means holy song or special song. Our true story also comes from a part of the Bible called the Gospel of Matthew. Matthew was a disciple of Jesus. That means Jesus was his teacher. And the word gospel means “good news!”

God knows everything about you! He knows your name. He knows what makes you laugh and what makes you cry. He knows when you wake up in the morning and when you go to bed at night.

The Bible says that God sees you when you sit down and when you stand up. He hears every word you say—even before you say it!

Jesus said something amazing: God knows how many hairs are on your head! That means God cares about every little part of you.

You are never alone. God is always with you, and He knows exactly what you need. You are very special to Him!

God knows everything about me! He sees me, hears me, and loves me all the time. I am never alone because God is always with me.

Dear God,

Thank You for knowing all about me. You know what I think, how I feel, and where I go. Thank You for always being with me and for loving me. Help me remember that I am never alone. We love You, God.

In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Bible Verse: “Be imitators of God, therefore, as beloved children, and walk in love, just as Christ loved us.” — Ephesians 5:1-2a, BSB

Paraphrase: “You are God’s child. Show love like Jesus did.”

Activities

These activities help preschoolers engage with the story through movement, crafts, music, and storytelling, making the lesson fun and memorable.

1. Finger Count Discovery

Objective: Help children understand that God knows even the smallest things about them.

Materials: None.

Activity:

Ask each child to hold up their hand and count their fingers aloud together. Then say, “Did you know God knows exactly how many fingers and toes you have? He even knows how many hairs are on your head!” Let children gently count fingers and toes on a doll, stuffed animal, or themselves.

Talk About It: “God knows everything about you—because He made you and loves you!”

2. Where Am I? Game

Objective: Reinforce that God sees and knows where we are, always.

Materials: A small blanket or towel.

Activity:

Play a simple hiding game. One child hides under the blanket while the others guess who’s hiding. After each round, say together, “We couldn’t see you—but God could!”

Talk About It: “Even when we can’t see someone, God always knows where they are and loves them!”

3. God Knows Me Song

Objective: Celebrate God’s personal love and knowledge through music.

Materials: Rhythm instruments (optional: shakers, drums, tambourines).

Activity:

Teach children this simple tune (sung to the tune of “Mary Had a Little Lamb”):

“God knows me and God loves me,
God knows me and God loves me,
God knows me and God loves me—
        Every single day!”

Encourage clapping or instruments. Repeat with joyful energy!

Talk About It: “Isn’t it wonderful that God knows your name and everything about you?”

4. Draw Yourself!

Objective: Help children reflect on the truth that God knows and loves them personally.

Materials: Paper, crayons or markers.

Activity:

Ask children to draw a picture of themselves. Invite them to share one thing about themselves that they like—such as their smile, hair, or favorite activity.

Talk About It: “God knows all about you, and He made you just right!”
