Matthew 2:1-2, 9-11 Our true story comes from a part of the Bible called the Gospel of Matthew. Matthew was a disciple of Jesus. That means Jesus was his teacher. And the word gospel means “good news!” Christmas is when we celebrate that Jesus was born. God loves us so much, that God gave us Jesus! Now, there were people called wise men who lived very far away. They were waiting for Jesus to be born because they knew Jesus was God’s Son.  After Jesus was born, God put a special star in the sky to show the wise men the way to Jesus so that they could celebrate Him.  The wise men knew they could follow the star to get to Jesus. It was a long journey, but they finally got there! The wise men were SO happy to see Jesus.  As soon as they saw Him, they gave Jesus gifts and worshipped Him. They wanted to show how special Jesus is. And we know Jesus is special because Jesus is God’s Son! God loves us so much that God gave us Jesus! Wow!  What an amazing story! Do you think w...

Luke 1:26-33, 38; 2:1–20 Our true story comes from a part of the Bible called the Gospel of Luke. Luke loved Jesus and wanted others to know and love Jesus, too. And the word gospel means “good news!” Our true story is all about Jesus’ birthday! Did you know that Christmas is when we celebrate Jesus’ birthday? Remember that we began with a woman named Mary. God gave Mary an important message by sending an angel!  The angel gave Mary a VERY important message. Mary was surprised and a little afraid when she saw the angel. But the angel said, “Do not be afraid, Mary! God says you are going to have a baby and you will call Him Jesus.” WOW! That IS a very important message! Mary was going to have a baby! And not just any baby. Mary was going to have Jesus! Jesus is special because Jesus is God’s Son! Hooray for Jesus! Not long after that, Joseph and Mary had to travel to a town called Bethlehem.  Did Mary and Joseph stay in a big fancy castle, or did they stay in a stable where ani...

Luke 2:8-20 Our true story comes from a part of the Bible called the Gospel of Luke. Luke loved Jesus and wanted others to know and love Jesus, too. And the word gospel means “good news!” Our true story is about when Jesus was born. God sent an angel to tell Mary she would have a special baby named Jesus. And Jesus is special because Jesus is God’s Son. One day, Mary and Joseph went to a town called Bethlehem. When they got there, they stayed in a place where animals sleep. Animals like a cow. What do cows say? “Moo-Moo!” And donkeys say . . . “HEE-HAW!” And sheep say . . . “BAA-BAA!” While Mary and Joseph were in Bethlehem, the most special thing happened. Baby Jesus was born! That night, there were shepherds out in the field taking care of their sheep. While the shepherds were watching their sheep, an angel appeared! The shepherds were afraid when they saw the angel, but then the angel said, “Don’t be afraid! God’s Son, Jesus, has been born! You will find baby Jesus lying in a manger...

Luke 2:1-7 Our true story comes from a part of the Bible called the Gospel of Luke. Luke loved Jesus and wanted others to know and love Jesus, too. And the word gospel means “good news!” One day, an angel told Mary that she was going to have a special baby named Jesus. Jesus is special because Jesus is God’s Son! Not long after the angel visited Mary, Mary and Joseph traveled a long way to the town of Bethlehem. How do you think Mary and Joseph got to Bethlehem? Let’s play a game to find out! Do you think Mary and Joseph rode on a bus to Bethlehem? No, they didn’t ride on a bus.  Do you think Mary and Joseph rode on an airplane to Bethlehem? No, they didn’t ride on an airplane either. Do you think Mary and Joseph rode on a donkey to Bethlehem? Yes! Mary and Joseph traveled a long way to Bethlehem, and they walked and maybe even rode a donkey! “Hee-haw! Hee-haw!" When Mary and Joseph got to Bethlehem, they needed to find a place to stay. Did Mary and Joseph stay in a hotel? No, Mar...
