God Made You

Genesis 1:26; Psalm 139:14

Our true story comes from a book, or part, of the Bible called Genesis. The word genesis means “the beginning.” Our story also comes from a book of the Bible called Psalms. The word psalm means holy song (or special song).

Do you know who made the earth? Yes! God did. We can read all about how God made the earth in the Bible.

Do you know who made the animals? That’s right! God made all the animals, too. God made every piece of grass, every flamingo and every bunny, and every single giraffe.

God put the sun in the sky, He made the moon and the stars, and He made the mountains REEEALLLY tall! And it was ALL good. Everything God made was good.

But there is something He created that is more special than everything else. Do you know what it is? Take one finger and point at YOU! God made you. People are His most special creation. God made you special. There is no one else like you. It’s true.

God has made each and every one of us completely special, one of a kind! We all have different hair, skin, and eye color. Some of us wear glasses. Some of us ride in wheelchairs. Some of us are really tall, and some of us are small. God made us just the way we are. He made some of us amazing singers and some of us fast runners. Some of us like to read. Some of us like to paint or draw. Some of us like the play basketball or t-ball, or dance! Some of us love animals.

We’re all different! And we are completely, amazingly, and wonderfully made. You are the most super, special, best thing God created! But do you know why God made YOU as His most special thing? Because He LOVES you so, so much!

Bible Paraphrase: Nothing at all can ever separate us from God’s love. — Romans 8:39, NIrV

Text Truth: God made me, and He loves me.

Family Devotional

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. – Psalm 139:14

Our Bible story was about how God made you! And because God made you, He loves you very much. Who loves you? God loves you!

Nothing at all can ever separate us from God’s love. — Romans 8:39, NIrV

We learned that God made us. And because God made us, He loves us very much. With your family, make a list of your favorite things about your bodies. Think about your body. What is your favorite part? God made your feet to run, and a brain to think, and a tongue to taste yummy food.

Pray with your family. Allow any family members to pray if they wish. In your own words, acknowledge to God that He did a wonderful thing when he made you and your family. Share with God your family's list of favorite things about your bodies that God made. Thank God for His love and acknowledge to God your love for him.
