Mark 6:31-44 Our true story comes from a part of the Bible called Mark. Mark loved Jesus and told people about Him. We begin on a beach. Jesus and His friends had been working really hard, and they were tired. So, they sailed away, to another part of the lake. Jesus and His friends had planned to rest, but when they got to land, a HUGE crowd of people was there. There were more than five thousand people, and they ALL wanted to see Jesus and hear Him teach. Do you think Jesus taught the people? Of course! Because Jesus is a good friend to everyone. Jesus taught for a long time, and everyone got hungry. That’s a lot of growling tummies! Jesus’ friends, the disciples, told Jesus to send the people away so they could eat. But Jesus said to the disciples, “You feed them.”  The disciples didn’t know how to feed everyone! There were SO many people. So, Jesus told the disciples to go see how much food they could find.  When the disciples came back, they had only one small lunch. ...

The Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) Our true story comes from parts of the Bible called the Gospel of Matthew, the Gospel of Mark, the Gospel of Luke, and the Gospel of John. The word gospel means “good news!” We begin with Jesus’ twelve friends who followed Him. Their names were Peter, Andrew, James, John, the other James, Matthew, Phillip, Bartholomew, Thomas, Judas, Thaddeus, and Simon. They were twelve of Jesus’ closest friends. They were His disciples, and they followed Him. Let’s learn about these twelve friends. Peter and Andrew were brothers. And there was also James and John. All four of these men were fishermen. Matthew was a tax collector and collect money. They were all very different, right?  They all came from different places and had different families. But you know what? They were ALL friends with Jesus! And when Jesus said, “Follow me,” they all said, “Yes!” They followed Jesus to so many places and saw Him be a friend to everyone. Jesus was a friend ...

Matthew 9:9-12 Our true story comes from a part of the Bible called the Gospel of Matthew. Matthew was a disciple of Jesus. That means Jesus was his teacher. And the word gospel means “good news!” We begin with a man named Matthew. People didn’t like Matthew because he had made some bad choices that made them very mad! And nobody really wanted to be his friend. One day, Jesus came to town. Jesus is God’s Son. He is SUPER special and amazing. He could have talked to anyone in town, but can you guess who He talked to?  Jesus talked to Matthew! Jesus walked right up to Matthew and said, “Follow me!” Jesus loved Matthew, no matter what, and wanted to be his friend. Later, Jesus went to have dinner at Matthew’s house. Guess who else wanted to have dinner with Jesus? Everyone! Everyone is a LOT of people.  Some people were confused when they saw Jesus eating with these people. They asked, “Why would Jesu want to be friends with someone who makes bad choices?” I’ll tell you why! Beca...

Matthew 4:18-22; Luke 5:1-11 Our true story comes from a part of the Bible called the Gospel of Matthew. Matthew was a disciple of Jesus. That means Jesus was his teacher. Our true story also comes from a part of the Bible called the Gospel of Luke. Luke loved Jesus and wanted others to know and love Jesus, too. And the word gospel means “good news!” We begin with two fishermen named Peter and Andrew. Peter and Andrew were fishermen. They would use a big net when they went fishing. Let’s pretend to throw out your own net just like a fisherman. Ready? Set? THROW! Once your net is in the water, you have to be really still and quiet. And wait for the fish. WHOA! Look at all those fish. Time to pull up your net. Ready? Set? Pull! You went fishing, just like the fishermen did. So, Peter and Andrew were fishermen, and they fished every day.  One day, Jesus walked by. They knew who Jesus was. They knew He was special and an amazing teacher. Jesus looked at them and said, “Come follow me.”...
