Heaven

Image
John 14:3; Revelation 21:3-5 Our true story is from a part of the Bible called the Gospel of John. John was one of the disciples of Jesus. That means Jesus was his teacher. And the word gospel means “good news!” Our true story is also from a part of the Bible called the Book of Revelation. Revelation means to learn something new. Our true story is about heaven! We talk a lot about how Jesus wants to be our friend forever and ever and ever! Do you know what that means? That means Jesus is in heaven, right now, getting a place ready for all of His friends! And that is super, wonderful news! Would you like to hear what heaven will be like? In heaven, there are no more boo-boos. No skinned knees, no bumps on the head. Everyone can run and play, and no one ever gets hurt in heaven! Bye-bye, bandages! In heaven, no one gets sick. No runny noses, no tummy aches, no earaches. Everyone is healthy in heaven! Bye-bye medicine and thermometer!  In heaven, we will never be sad. Because sad thin...

The Church

Hebrews 10:23-25; Acts 2:42-47 Our true story comes from a part of the Bible called Acts, which is short for “the Acts of the Apostles.” An apostle is someone who is sent to teach others about Jesus. Have you ever wondered what the very first church looked like?  The first church had people like you because the church is a group of people who love Jesus and meet together. One thing the very first church did when they met together was think of ways they could love like Jesus. One of the ways the church loves like Jesus is by sharing what we have. We can share our lunch with a friend who doesn’t have any food. We can share our toys with friends when we play together. Sharing is loving like Jesus.  Another way the church loves like Jesus is by giving clothes to people who need them. Helping others is loving like Jesus.  Another way the church loves like Jesus is by praying together. Praying for each other is loving like Jesus.  Another way the church loves like Jesus is...

Paul Is Shipwrecked

Acts 27:1-2, 14-25, 33-36, 41; 28:1,7-9 Our true story comes from a part of the Bible called Acts, which is short for “the Acts of the Apostles.” An apostle is someone who is sent to teach others about Jesus. We begin with a man named Paul. Paul loved Jesus. Paul knew Jesus wanted him to love people and go here, there, and EVERYWHERE, telling the good news that Jesus wants to be everyone’s friend forever. Paul told everyone that Jesus wants to be their friend forever, but some hard things happened. One day, Paul was on a boat. While the boat was sailing, there was a really big storm. OH, NO! First, the storm started small. Then it got bigger! OH, NO!  There was so much wind! The wind blew the boat this way! The wind blew the boat that way! All of the people on the boat were afraid. But Paul was not afraid, because he knew that God would take care of them.  So, what did Paul do even though hard things were happening? Paul chose to love like Jesus and encourage everyone on the b...

Paul and Silas Are Thrown into Prison

Acts 16:16-40 Our true story comes from a part of the Bible called Acts, which is short for “the Acts of the Apostles.” An apostle is someone who is sent to teach others about Jesus. Our true story is about two of Jesus’ friends named Paul and Silas. Paul and Silas loved Jesus, and they told people everywhere that Jesus wanted to be their friend forever. One day, some people got mad at Paul and Silas for telling people about Jesus . . . . . . so they put Paul and Silas in jail. Jail is not a fun place. But let me tell you what Paul and Silas did! Even though Paul and Silas were in jail, they began to sing! Paul and Silas chose to sing and praise Jesus with joy! Paul and Silas knew that even though they were in jail, Jesus still loved them and was their friend forever. Jesus helped them choose joy! Wow! But that’s not all! Later that night, while Paul and Silas were singing, the ground began to shake. It was an earthquake! The earthquake made the doors to the jail fly wide open! You wou...

Salvation Is God’s Gift

Ephesians 2:8-9 Our true story comes from a part of the Bible called the Letter to the Ephesians, which is a letter written to early Christians. Our true story is about a very special gift, which is another word for “present.” The gift I’m telling you about is so BIG, so GREAT, so WONDERFUL, that you need to play your party horn. This gift is for everyone. Does that mean this gift is for you? Yes! Does that mean this gift is for me? Yes! Does that mean this gift is for EVERYONE in the whole world? Yes!  Are you ready to find out what this gift is? Count to three with me. One. Two. Three! It’s Jesus! Jesus is the gift for everyone! Jesus is a gift for everyone because Jesus wants to be everyone’s friend forever. And Jesus is the best friend, because Jesus loves us, no matter what. That’s a really special gift! Let me ask you a question. Do you think it has to be your birthday to get this gift? No! Jesus is a gift for you every day because Jesus wants to be your friend forever. ...
