God Gave His Only Son

John 3:16

Our true story comes from a part of the Bible called John. John was one of the friends and helpers of Jesus.

God loves you, and God loves me. God loves us with his WHOLE heart. God loves everyone in the whole WIDE world. You could live anywhere in the whole world, and God would love you.

God loves everyone SO much that He gave us all a very special gift. It wasn’t a new bicycle. It wasn’t a cute, fluffy puppy.

Do you want to know what the special gift is? It’s JESUS! God loved the world so much that He gave us Jesus. Wow! Think about that! Jesus is special because Jesus is God’s son! Jesus wants to be our friend forever! That’s right. Jesus wants to be my friend forever. And Jesus wants to be your friend forever!

It’s true! God loves you, and God loves me. God loved the whole world SO much that He gave us Jesus.

Bible Paraphrase: Nothing at all can ever separate us from God’s love. — Romans 8:39, NIrV

Text Truth: God loves me and sent Jesus to be my friend forever.

Family Devotional

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. — John 3:16

In our Bible story, we learned that God loves us so much that He sent Jesus to be our friend forever. That’s a lot of love! But wait, there’s more! Nothing at all can ever separate us from God’s love either.

Nothing at all can ever separate us from God’s love. — Romans 8:39, NIrV

Yes, God loves you and everyone in the whole world SO much that He sent His Son, Jesus, to be our friend forever. With your family, make a list of people God loves. It can be anyone, because God loves everyone!

Pray with your family. Allow any family members to pray if they wish. In your own words, thank God for loving you SO much He gave you Jesus to be your friend forever. And thank God for loving (read through your family's list), and everyone else in the world. Thank God for His love and acknowledge to God your love for him.
