Matthew 28:16-20 Our true story comes from a part of the Bible called the Gospel of Matthew. Matthew was a disciple of Jesus. That means Jesus was his teacher. And the word gospel means “good news!” We begin with Jesus standing on a mountain. Jesus took His friends up on a mountain after He came back because He had to tell them something very important. Jesus told them that He had an important job for them to do. Jesus told His friends that He wanted them to tell EVERYONE, EVERYWHERE that Jesus loves them and wants to be their friend forever. Do you know what? Jesus wants you to do that very important job, too! You can tell people that Jesus loves them and wants to be their friend forever. You can call a friend and say, “Jesus loves you and wants to be your friend forever.” You can tell the cashier at the grocery store, “Jesus loves you and wants to be your friend forever.” Okay, one more. You can tell your friends you play with at the park, “Jesus loves you and wants to be your friend...

Acts 2:42-47 Our true story comes from a part of the Bible called Acts, which is short for “The Acts of the Apostles.” An apostle is someone who is sent to teach people about Jesus. We begin with Jesus’ friends who wanted to LOVE people like Jesus loved them. Can you make a heart with your hands like this? Yes! Jesus’ friends wanted to LOVE people like Jesus loved them. So, do you know what they did They SHARED. If someone needed a coat, they gave him one of theirs.  If someone needed a place to stay, they shared their home! If someone didn’t have something to eat, they would give her food! Jesus’ friends were super sharers because that is how Jesus loved people. He shared with everyone. Jesus’ friends spent lots of time together. They ate, talked, and laughed. They loved each other because Jesus loved them. And do you know what else they did? They praised God. This showed everyone that they were friends with Jesus. Let's do that, too! Let’s be friends like Jesus and share so that ...

Breakfast on the Beach

John 21:1-14 Our true story is found in at part of the Bible called the Gospel of John. John was one of the friends and helpers of Jesus. And the word "Gospel" means "good news!" We begin at a breakfast that happened not long after Jesus came back. Do you remember why we celebrate Easter? It started out sad. Jesus died and was put in a tomb. But did Jesus stay there? No! Jesus came back, just like He said He would! It was such good news. Jesus is alive, and one of the things He wanted to do was spend time with His friends. Jesus' friends were fishing in a boat early in the morning... ...when all of the sudden, they saw someone standing on the shore. Do you know who they saw? Who promised to come back? Yes! It was Jesus. His friends were so excited to see Him. In fact, Peter, one of Jesus’ friends on the boat, was SO excited that he jumped in the water to swim to Jesus. And when they got to the shore, Jesus was cooking breakfast. Do you think they had pancakes? O...

Easter

Matthew 26:20-30; 27:45-50; 28:1-7 Our true story comes from a part of the Bible called the Gospel of Matthew. Matthew was a disciple of Jesus. That means Jesus was his teacher. And the word gospel means “good news!” Do you know what this is? It’s a heart! Because the true story of Easter begins with God’s love for us. The Bible teaches us that God’s love for us goes higher than the highest mountain—higher than any kite can fly. And God’s love for us is bigger and wider than we can even hold. God’s love for us goes deeper than the deepest ocean. He loves us SOOOOO much. God loves us so much that He gave us His Son, Jesus, to be our friend forever. But first something sad had to happen. One night, when Jesus was having dinner with His good, good friends, He told them that He would have to go away. But He promised them He would come back.  They were sad and confused. But remember that Jesus loves us and wants to be our friend forever. After dinner, Jesus went to pray in a garden. Whi...
