Acts 12:1-19 Our true story comes from a part of the Bible called Acts, which is short for “the Acts of the Apostles.” An apostle is someone who is sent to teach others about Jesus. We begin with some of Jesus’ friends. First, we have Peter. Peter and some of Jesus’ other friends were going around the city telling people the good news about Jesus. They were telling EVERYONE that Jesus wants to be their friend forever! Way to go, Peter! But the king didn’t like it one bit! King Herod did not like what Peter and Jesus’ friends were saying. So, King Herod sent soldiers to take Peter to jail! Oh, no! When Peter’s friends saw the soldiers take Peter away, they could have been worried, scared, mad, sad, or frustrated. But Peter’s friends prayed! Later that night, the most amazing thing happened! While Peter was sleeping, an angel woke him up!  The angel told Peter to follow him.  Peter did what the angel said and followed him safely outside.  After the angel left, Peter went ri...

Acts 10 Our true story comes from a part of the Bible called Acts, which is short for “the Acts of the Apostles.” An apostle is someone who is sent to teach others about Jesus. We begin with a man named Peter. Peter was a friend of Jesus. Jesus taught Peter to love everyone the way Jesus loves everyone. So, Peter started telling the good news that Jesus loves everyone and Jesus wants to be everyone’s friend forever! It doesn’t matter where a person lives, what a person looks like, or what language a person speaks. Jesus loves everyone! So, that’s what Peter told everyone. Peter told his friends about Jesus.  Peter told his family about Jesus. Then Peter told someone named Cornelius about Jesus, and he wasn’t Peter’s friend or his family. Cornelius was different from Peter. But Peter chose to love Cornelius and tell him that Jesus loved him, because Jesus loves EVERYONE and Jesus wants to be EVERYONE’S friend forever. Cornelius was SO excited when he heard about Jesus that he ...

Acts 9:10-31 Our true story comes from a part of the Bible called Acts. That name is short for “the Acts of the Apostles.” An apostle is someone who is sent to teach others about Jesus. Our true story is about a man named Paul. Paul was not a friend of Jesus or any of Jesus’ friends. But that all changed one day when Paul saw a really bright light and heard Jesus talk to him! Jesus told Paul to go to the city of Damascus and wait for someone to tell him what to do. So, Paul did exactly what Jesus said. There was just one problem. When Paul opened his eyes, he couldn’t see!  So, the people who were with Paul had to help him get to the city. And all he could do was wait for someone to tell him what to do. So Paul waited. And waited. And waited . . . and waited! While Paul was waiting, Jesus told a friend named Ananias to go help Paul. But Ananias was afraid! Ananias was afraid because he knew Paul was not a friend of Jesus or any of Jesus’ friends. But Jesus told Ananias it was safe ...

Acts 9:1-9 Our true story comes from a part of the Bible called Acts. That name is short for “the Acts of the Apostles.” An apostle is someone who is sent to teach others about Jesus. We begin with a man name Paul. Paul was not a friend of Jesus or anyone who were friends with Jesus. Paul would look for Jesus’ friends and take them to jail! Oh, no! That’s definitely not a good friend! But one day, that all changed. Paul was walking down a road, to a city called Damascus, and suddenly there was a bright light! The light was SO bright that Paul stopped and fell to his knees.  Then Paul heard a voice ask, “Paul, why don’t you want to be my friend?” Paul didn’t know who was talking to him, so he asked, “Who are you?” Who do you think was talking to Paul? It was Jesus! Jesus was talking to Paul. Jesus told Paul to go into the city and wait to be told what to do. When Paul stood up and opened his eyes, he couldn’t see anything. The people who were with Paul had to help him go to the city...
