Moses and the Water
Exodus 17:1-7 Our true Bible story comes from a book, or part, of the Bible called Exodus. The word “exodus” means to leave or go away from. God had been with Moses since he was a little baby. God chose Moses to be a great leader. Moses led God’s people out of Egypt. And they were on their way to their new home. But the people had followed Moses for a long time and they were beginning to whine and complain. The people had been walking and walking and walking in the desert. Deserts are hot and there is not a lot of water there. God’s people were getting very, very hot and very, very thirsty. So, God’s people started to complain. They said, “We’re hot! We’re thirsty! Why did you bring us here?” Moses said to the people, “Stop whining and complaining. Do you not remember that God’s got it?” But God’s people had forgotten.
