God Cares About Every Part of Me
Luke 12:7
Our true story comes from a part of the Bible called the Gospel of Luke. Luke loved Jesus and wanted others to know and love Jesus, too. And the word gospel means “good news!”
Did you know that God cares about you all the time? He cares when you’re happy. He cares when you’re sad. He even cares when you’re just being quiet or silly or sleepy. God loves everything about you!
Jesus once told His friends something amazing. He said, “Even the hairs on your head are all numbered.” That means God knows everything about you—even how many hairs are on your head!
Can you count all the hairs on your head? No way! There are too many! But God knows, because He is always watching over you with love.
Jesus told His friends not to be afraid, because God was always with them and cared for them very much. If God cares about birds and flowers and little things, then He really cares about YOU!
So, if you ever feel worried or left out or scared, remember: God sees you. God knows you. And God takes care of you. You are never alone.
God cares about every part of you—because you are so very special to Him.
God cares about you all the time—even the little things. God knows everything about you, even how many hairs are on your head! You are never too small or too quiet for God to notice. He cares for you every day.
“Friends, say this prayer with me.”
Dear God,
Thank You for caring about me. Thank You for knowing everything about me—Even how many hairs are on my head! When I feel happy or sad, Help me remember that You are always with me. We love You, God.
In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
Bible Verse: “Be imitators of God, therefore, as beloved children, and walk in love, just as Christ loved us.” — Ephesians 5:1-2a, BSB
Paraphrase: “You are God’s child. Show love like Jesus did.”
Activities
These activities help preschoolers engage with the story through movement, crafts, music, and storytelling, making the lesson fun and memorable.
1. Counting Hairs Craft: “God Knows Me!”
Objective: Help children understand that God knows them so well He even knows how many hairs are on their heads.
Materials: Construction paper face or head shapes, crayons or markers, glue sticks, yarn or string (cut into small pieces)
Activity:
Give each child a paper face and let them draw a smile, eyes, and nose. Provide small pieces of yarn to glue on as “hair.” As they add pieces, say, “God knows how many hairs are on your head—because He cares about you so much!”
Talk About It: “God knows everything about you—even the little things—because He cares for you!”
2. Feather Toss: “If God Cares for the Birds...”
Objective: Teach children that if God cares for birds, He certainly cares for them, too.
Materials: Craft feathers or other lightweight items (e.g., tissue paper, scarf scraps)
Activity:
Let children gently toss or blow feathers into the air and try to catch them. As they play, say: “Jesus said God cares for the birds—and He cares for you even more!” Each time a child catches a feather, invite them to whisper, “God cares for me!”
Talk About It: “God watches over the birds—and He loves you even more than the birds!”
3. Feelings Face Match
Objective: Help children understand that God cares about their feelings, no matter what they are.
Materials: Printable or hand-drawn faces showing different emotions (e.g., happy, sad, surprised, sleepy); small mirrors (optional)
Activity:
Show one face at a time and ask, “Have you ever felt this way?” As children respond, say: “God cares when you feel [emotion].” Encourage them to make the face themselves and share a time they felt that way. Use mirrors so they can see their expressions and connect emotionally.
Talk About It: “No matter how you feel—happy, sad, or even silly—God cares about you!”
4. Musical Freeze: “God Sees Me!”
Objective: Reinforce the truth that God always sees and cares for us, no matter what we're doing.
Materials: Upbeat music or simple rhythm instrument
Activity:
Play music and invite the children to dance freely around the room. When the music stops, have them freeze in place. Each time they freeze, say: “God sees you!” Occasionally add, “God cares for you when you’re moving… and when you’re still!” Then restart the music.
Talk About It: “God sees you when you dance, when you play, and even when you’re still. He always cares for you!”
